BMW Transmission Filter

BMW Transmission Filter

The transmission filter is the filter that prevents contaminants or dirty substances from entering the transmission fluid and the vehicle system.

In cars, the transmission filter is a type of filter that ensures the cleaning of the oil circulating inside the transmission. The importance of the transmission filter can be explained as follows:

Oil Cleanliness: The transmission filter captures the contaminants and particles present in the transmission fluid. As the transmission fluid continuously circulates inside the transmission, contaminants can accumulate due to friction and heat. The transmission filter traps these contaminants and keeps the oil clean. Clean transmission fluid ensures that the transmission operates smoothly and efficiently.

Part Protection: The transmission filter helps protect the parts inside the transmission. Particles and contaminants can cause wear and damage to the gears and bearings of the transmission. A clean transmission filter extends the lifespan of the parts and ensures that the transmission operates healthily for a longer time.

Performance and Smoothness of Shifts: A dirty transmission filter can restrict oil flow and negatively affect the performance of the transmission. This situation can impact the smoothness of shifts and the seamlessness of gear changes. A clean transmission filter regulates oil flow and ensures the proper functioning of the transmission.

Driving Comfort: The proper functioning of the transmission filter enhances driving comfort. A dirty transmission filter can cause strain, delays, and vibrations during gear changes. A clean transmission filter ensures that shifts are smoother and trouble-free, making the driving experience more enjoyable.

It is important to regularly check the transmission filter and replace it when necessary. Changing the transmission filter according to the intervals specified in your vehicle's user manual ensures that the transmission operates healthily and efficiently. Additionally, it is recommended to replace the transmission filter during the transmission oil change, as this process replaces the old and contaminated filter with a new one, providing better protection for the transmission.
