The BMW E36 is the generation of the BMW 3 Series compact executive series and took place from 1990-2000.
The first models were frame sedans with four doors, after that the cabin is in the body of the coupe, convertible wagon ("Touring") and hatchback ("Compact").
The E36 was the first 3-series from the hatchback body. It was also the first 3 Series with a six-speed manual (1996 M3 engine and a four-cylinder diesel engine).
Multi-link rear zoom was also a significant improvement over previous generations of the 3 series. It also has a 50/50 din with a front engine layout.

Powered by the high-end E36 M3, BMW S50 or BMW S52 straight-six engine (Depending on the country). The E36 M3 was introduced in 1992 and was available in coupe and cabriolet lines.
Its successor, the 46 Series 3, was introduced in 1998 to the E46, which was to be launched in 1999, with production of the E starting to be continued.
